Marketing commentary for better. Or worse.

After the success of their award winning Real Beauty Sketches ad, Dove follows up with the release of Camera Shy. In this sixty-second video they explore the tendency of shying away that some women display when approached by camera. As the women continue to hide the video transitions to footage of young girls bravely facing the camera and ask, “When did you stop thinking you were beautiful?” And features the song “Peek-A-Boo” by Rose Murphy.

Like Real Beauty Sketches, the buzz created from Camera Shy is a great example of what expressive story telling can do for a brand. Each video supplements the brands position and keeps viewers wanting more, as Dove continues to create stimulating content to communicate their message. See the ad and a well-produced spoof below.
